Awake and deliver, mateys!

Hello there. It's about 1:30 a.m., and I have to go start putting together the Sunday papers soon (it's in four bloody sections today, so it's gonna take a good hour just to put the sucker together, much less deliver 'em all!). So I didn't bother going to bed tonight.

I got lots of work done on the Wannoshay novel instead! I finally made some serious headway in the back-history of my aliens, figuring out where they came from and how they arrived on Earth. Lots of fun -- it's cool creating an entire history out of whole cloth.

And then, at around midnight, I started some new work on chapter 19, which is sort of done, but needs a bit more meat to it. We shall see. The goal is to get as much of the novel roughed out as I can before the end of the day Wednesday, when we're off to Ocracoke.

Because once we leave for that trip, I'm gonna be in romance/ghost story mode. It's funny -- I've gotten a couple emails from various newsgroups I'm part of that have listed a need for paranormal romances from various publishers (including Tor, the biggest and best SF/F publisher out there!). So I feel very much justified in working on the romance next. I'd love to have the SF novel completely done, but I'm starting to feel the itch to get this romance novel done soon and out there. It's got a lot of potential. And with Lizzie as my secret weapon/reader/editor, I know it's gonna kick ass!

Okay, I'd better finish up here and get ready to deliver papers... Later!

Today's Quote:
The camp was silent. The Wannoshay on the ground lowered their arms, though their hair-tentacles remained lifted toward the new ship. With their hair raised, Shontera was able to see the white derm patches the aliens wore on the back of their necks. She looked back at the ship and waited for the first Late One to show itself.

Hey--talk to me! It's EARLY!!!
