OBSESSION: Fiona Apple, SEAL So, I just wanted to report that I found a solution to my Sigourney Weaver problem, now I just have to implement it. I'm going out on a limb and I'm going to tackle acrylics (again) so this might end before it even really begins, but I figured I'd give it a shot. It's another example of how I add on at least 1 or 2 extra levels of work on to any given project. Not only is the piece to be rendered in a medium I'm *average* at, it also hangs a lot of expectation on my portraiture skills. But the composition rocks, and the colors are coming along, so its just...hmm... exciting! [ I 'd love to do this for the rest of my life. ] So my instructor is really sincere in his efforts to making this class *the one* really informative class you can get at the art institute. His shpeel is that this may not be the greatest school, but if your illustration is hot, than you will get money. He's also advising to start your career ANYWHERE other than Pgh. . . . You can always come back once you've started, but don't expect to get work here. He also had some good advice about self promotion, and competitions, etc. REALLY useful information. At anyrate, just something to think about really. I can't really go anywhere at the moment, but it does mean that the crossroads approaching in June 2002 is for real, not just an imaginary threshold. I really wish that da'guru would give me an idea of where he wants to go to school next. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
