I'm taking about a week-long break from this blog and other blog-related activities, including reading others. I do love all of you, my bevy of visitors and friends. And I will miss reading about your adventures, both here in comments and on your own pages. But I am fixating on this space a little too much these days. We Calvinists are all about rooting out idolatry, eh? A break will do me good, and besides, I have some major work, writing and family things to attend to before the fall starts up again.

Hopefully next time you hear from me I'll be able to report on:

• Finding a child-care person for the divine miss m
  
• Finishing my first article for the Lectionary Commentary Series
  
• Calling some additional folks to teaching and leadership for the fall adult spiritual growth ministries at the church
  
• Actual forward progress on some presbytery Uber-Committee stuff
  
• This coming weekend's sermon--hopefully done and not sucking
  
• A fruitful meeting of the Writing Revs on Wednesday (I need to finish a piece for them!)
  
• A long-postponed lunch with Clergy Pal and her kids
  
• Plans for R's birthday in a couple of weeks.

I'll check in next weekend.
