I had a conversation with some people about music the other day. They were a few years older than me and we discussed what music they listened to as young men and was it considered crap by their elders. Nobody's parents objected to any of the music the guys listened too. But they weren't listening to what I would call controversial music. And they said there wasn't any during their heydays.

Bullshit. Music always has a counter culture, forbidden quality to it. Each age of music has the black sheep that is not welcome in the house. That is how music grows and changes by challenging belief systems of those percieved to be in charge, i.e. Parents, Bosses, Government. More they hate it the more popular it becomes. Then at the height of its popularity, a new style comes to town and kicks the ass of the old style. Fans of the old style complain about the new style. That's how you tell who is old. Heh Just contemplating the music thing.
