My trip this time was marked by the early and constant bloom of azaleas. Its an elusive name that took me 10 minutes researching online to remember - though it would immediately come back to me if I was driving in a car in the fl pan handle. Entire yards decked out in hot pink - with possible some soft red for accent.

The azalea sums up a lot of what I think of that part of the usa. I don't hate the south, but I do feel like a visitor there - traveling on the good grace of my hosts. I don't feel the same affinity as I do for this silly burgh.
