Sounds/Songs: guru puttering Book: Melmoth (against my better judgement) Film: n/a What I need right now is...to go to bed. Though, I will point out that I'm not tired. < / whine> *Sigh* It really came home today that I've only got 2 more weeks at uss. I'm begining to remember how much I hate endings. It's sort of hard now since I'm finally getting somewhere with the phtography storage project I was originally brought on for. I did decide to come in special for the xmas lunch -- so you now know that I'm offically a good person. I was riding the fence on it for about a month, the main sticking point was that I would have to rearrange my schedule. Now given, my schedule has its pockets of flexibility but I hate changing for no reason. We had the dress rehearsal tonight for the concert on Sat. Sure we're ready.NO PROBLEM. It's actually not that bad, but it will be an adventure - especially since my G string prefers to be a Gb in this weather. It's really strange. It always slips down into that note, as if there is a groove in the peg or something. Herm. I hate to mess around with it the day before a concert, so I will probably wait to take it to my new string guy until after the weekend. I've tried all the home remedies the viola section has to offer, but its no good. ergh. So I wanted to say something more about the viola but I don't remember what it is. I think it was about how string instruments are not really individuals, but more like a piano with many keys. I'm begining to respect the place of conductor more, the more I realize that we are all one big instrument. I'm as finikie as my viola. I also wanted to say that string players set each other off. If one plays bad, they all play bad. Similarly, you catch good musicality off each other too. I truly believe I play better in a group. You sort of push each other, and draw each other out into phrases and bowing styles. A little lit of the bow. A small ending of a note, pretty stuff. Conversation. Since I didn't have to drive in it, I did enjoy the snow today. I wrapped up and walked out into the silent glowing day. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
