My Incredibly Unremarkable Life

What happened to June? Tomorrow is its last day, yet it seems like it's been only a couple of weeks since it was May.

Today's activities were the stuff boredom is made of. The glass man was scheduled to come in the afternoon--somewhere between 1 and 5. Nothing like a nice broad window. He actually arrived a bit before three and got my windshield changed in under an hour. My new one has a wider tinted stripe at the top. Not only did he transfer my inspection sticker, he transferred the little "you last had your oil changed" sticker. I'm fully aware of how long it has been. I had been thinking about it, and decided I'd get it done at the car wash, where I last had it done in April (2005). Luckily, the windshield guy said to avoid automatic car washes for several days, so that takes care of this weekend, although Saturday and Sunday are long wait days at the car wash, and probably more so with the current worker shortage.

My big accomplishment for the day was (are you ready?) pulling some of the weeds along the patio. I found the dead rye grass gave way easily. Some of the "weedier" stuff took a bit more tugging. I also resolved to do this again, but in the early morning so I don't sweat to death.

Day after tomorrow it will be July and we'll be in (more or less) the second half of the year.

But where did June go?
