of my three day weekend. And I didn't get much on the to-do list accomplished. So what.

The printer called late in the morning. I'd left GED for Dummies to be spiral bound and it was ready.

When I was a grad student and having to constantly refer to Turabian for the proper format for footnotes etc. I found it difficult to type with one elbow holding the book open. I had somehow discovered that books could be spiral-bound rather cheaply, so I headed for Kinko's and had that done. What a difference. Last week I realized that my local printer could probably do the same thing, so I stopped by there and the rest--plus $3--is history.

From there it was sort of a regular at-home day. Arby's for lunch, then PJ's for coffee and some intensive geek reading.

Stopped at Walgreen's on the way home to replace a non-functioning heating pad and ran into a neighbor of some 30+ years' standing. We of course chatted a bit. She was telling me about their dog--formerly Diana's--and how protective Zeus is of the grands and of their younger daughter, who has Down Syndrome.

We continued with the usual chat of the "old-timers" about how our once-wooded area is being built up. She has a total of five 50 ft. wide lots and when she and her husband are gone, their heirs will make quite a pretty penny selling them to developers.

And I just heard on TV that the IRS has effectively thrown up their hands and given another extension for filing! That means the state will too. I have no problems with the federal income tax--I'll get a substantial refund, but filing late with the state means I may have interest to pay. Well, it's worth it.

And now I have a 'regular' weekend still ahead of me.
