I had finally gotten around to making my annual appointment for tooth-cleaning etc. That was for this afternoon. About mid-morning I got a call from the office telling me the dentist (who is 11 years my junior) was having surgery this afternoon for a blocked artery. Did I want to reschedule? I decided against it, since the hygienist does most of the work and it's a pain scheduling appointments.

So, I have a nice clean mouth. She didn't see anything unusual so I guess I'll just put off seeing him unless I have a particular problem. And she hadn't had any "word" by the time I left. Apparently, this is a fairly routine procedure. Let's hope so.

I told my primary care physician (ten years my junior) that he can't retire till I die. I'll have to tell my dentist that also. I've been seeing both of them since 1976.

About the only other item of note came in the mail. A book. So what? Well, this one cost me only $7.99 for a hardcover copy of a new mystery. It's the second in this author's series. I haven't read the first, but I like mysteries set in early civilizations, so when Amazon offered me the opportunity to buy it (based on what I've been buying and looking at there) I decided I might as well. It's not bad. I may try to find a cheap used copy of the first one.

Now I need to sew a button back on a jacket I plan to wear tomorrow.
