I finally got my Norton completely downloaded. I'd started it a while back, but it was taking absolutely FOREVER and I had other things to take care of. They sent me a reminder the other day, so yesterday I set the download in motion then left the house.

I really wish they would give a download time estimate. If I knew in advance that it would take an hour, I'd plan accordingly.

On the bright side, I now have the absolute latest version.

I spent all of work today mired in the 2002 mayoral election. And I still have more to go through. At least today's batch hadn't gotten seriously wet.

I take only a passing interest in New Orleans politics, no doubt because they have a minimal impact on me. That's my excuse for not remembering who was running. I knew who ultimately won--and won re-election last year. And I knew who some of the opponents were. But I'd forgotten that the incumbent mayor in 2001 had tried to get a city charter change through that would have abolished the two-term rule.

2001 - 2002 is relatively recent, but I guess Katrina had such an impact that most of the events BK are ancient history.

Tomorrow morning I shall try to get my body moving early enough to get the oil changed and the car washed. And then I'll get dust on it when I drop the papers off at the recycle center.

No sign of visiting cats today, but Lady was sitting primly on top of the front fence waiting for me this afternoon. She looks really cute sitting there.
