I was debating going in to work, in hopes that the folders would be in.

Then I heard the traffic report for those coming into the city from the east. The High Rise bridge (interstate) inbound was the scene of a major accident which resulted in closure of said bridge. In fact, one lane heading east was also closed, for rescue vehicles. People were advised to take alternate routes.

I've been caught in traffic jams when the interstate shuts down there, and the results are the same--stop and slow traffic on all of the alternate routes. (This is why I leave for work about 6 AM when I am teaching an 8 AM class--because I probably won't run into major traffic problems.)

I called the secretary and told her I'd see her tomorrow. (And the folders weren't in.)

And then I made the mistake of reading "just a bit" more of Cross Bones. I finished it a bit after lunch, then went to PJ's (OPAC) and started reading a charmaing Anne McCaffrey book. The jacket describes it as a book for adults and "intelligent chldren." A cat is one of the principals. I shall probably finish the book this evening.

The instructions that came with my latest medication (for the thing that cancelled out yesterday) say not to eat for an hour after taking it, and wait two hours after eating to take it. It's a two-a-day dosage. Or maybe the times are the other way around. It's almost two hours since I took one, so when I get tired of "netting" I can have some supper.

And cross my fingers that there's no "bumper cars" in the traffic tomorrow.
