My two daughters got together this year to "do" family Christmas together. I'm their only living relative so it was a very nice afternoon. I got to see the older grands and the youngest one, and how they all reacted together.

The nicest part was seeing my two working cooperatively. With five years between them, they had very little in common until relatively recently.

My "word-a-Day" calendar for next year is "Wild Words from Wild Women." That should be fun.

Ever since about 1984 I've gotten one of those calendars. It's at the point now when I don't know what I'd do without one.

Several years ago I got two, and one of them went on my desk at work. As adjunct (and usually part time) I share an office with others of that status. That spring my office-mate got as much pleasure as I did from my "Bushism a Day" calendar.

This one would go over well at the Women's Center, but I'm not in there every day. It will stay to the right of my computer--at home. (I'll probably take the good ones in to work to tape to my carrel.)

YD and I are meeting for breakfast at I-Hop tomorrow morning. It's closer to me, but most of her drive is interstate. When my husband was alive we would go out for breakfast Christmas and/or New Year's mornings--and leave a $20 tip. I'll do that tomorrow, of course. Anyone working as a waitress on Christmas morning can probably use something like that.

And now back to my supper of leftovers. I think I can eat for almost a week on what they gave me to take home.
