I woke up to rumbling noises, and Fabian leaving the couch seat to hide under it.

Turned on the TV and heard about a front moving through and spinning off tornados. Luckily (for this area) the tornados were somewhat north.

However, the rain went on till about ten AM or so.

Meanwhile I did the s*** work and cleaned the bathroom, including (and especially) the second cat box.

By noon it had cleared up nicely, and I headed out for groceries. It was looking nasty again, but it didn't rain.

While I was at WalMart I ran into someone I'd known from the church where I went for years. She and her husband introduced me to the marvelous publication Aramco World. It is a very well-written and interesting slick magazine about Mid-East countries. And it is free. I showed a copy to Sister at Xavier and she now gets it too.

Anyway, I chatted with the woman and learned that her husband had degenerated mentally. Then he appeared, recognized me, and we got into a very interesting conversation. His wife suggested that I come to their house one day. I guess she could use some relief, and he could use some different faces, not to mention a good and attentive listener. I gave her my cell number.

When I was feeding the beasts this evening Emma was on the outside front porch. I put a little dry food down and she popped in through torn screen and started eating. My girls were busy with their wet food so I didn't hear any "conversations."

When I went outside to put out the raccoon food Lady and Emma both came running over. I had to sprinkle some more dry food by the steps. They're not yet playmates, but they are coexisting peacefully.

Tomorrow will be a work day and the weather forecast is for a clear one. I think the temperatures will be moderate. Now to figure out what I will feel like wearing tomorrow morning.
