I woke up briefly, felt a breeze, so I decided it was time to move the car under the patio cover. It's sort of a misting rain at the moment.

Based on the weather radar, we're in the outer bands of the storm. (I am located right about where the map has LIX+ASO, and it's about four miles away.)

So far, it's looking like Gustav has lost considerable strength. I hope I'm right--but the weather people are saying that too.

But the problems will come from the storm surge and that will be a real test for the levees on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain.

Now to see if I will go back to sleep.
