Yesterday was warm, today was much cooler, and tomorrow the high is supposed to be in the 40s - Fahrenheit.
Remember--our trade-off for hurricanes is supposed to be warm winter, with only an occasional freezing night. I plan on going in to work tomorrow, so I am VERY glad that my climate controls have working knobs again and I can choose from cool and arm. And in which direction the air goes. I woke up to rain this morning. There went the yard work plan--especially since I went back to sleep. The Saints won. It's too bad the Lions set a record by losing fifteen regular-season games (in one season), but the Saints looked halfway decent. Wait till next year! (I think I first heard that re: the Brooklyn Dodgers.) When the rain let up, the cold air was there, so I've spent the rest of the day inside. The cats are equally unenthused about the outdoor weather and have been quite cuddly. Last night I had the porch door open just a possum width. I closed it before I went to bed without checking the whereabouts of Pogo. He was still inside, and trying to figure out how to get out the door. He hasn't (yet) figured out the cat door. So, I opened the door just wide enough for him, and after he'd skittered through closed it back up. Judging by the amount of dry food he can scarf down, possums must have a fairly high metabolic rate. He's sort of used to me--he just backs off about six feet if I'm doing something like opening the door or pouring out food. Three more days till bah humbug. Guess I'd better do the cards tomorrow. more animals Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
