I had the back treatment this morning and a long-time friend picked me up after it. We then went out for an extended lunch at Olive Garden. Oh but they have some yummy food! I think we spent about two hours, but it took that long to catch each other up on what has been going on in lur respective lives.

She (of course) was thrilled to get a copy of YD's book--autographed specially for her.

I got home just before some showers started and had myself a sinking spell.

The rain cooled things off a bit and I am giving thoughtful consideration to pulling some weeds this evening. They'll come up so easily . . .

I plan on going in to work tomorrow and Friday and getting this collection close to completion. If I can get everything in the proper folders and cartons--and do a handwritten inventory--I can get that typed up over the weekend. I left a message for the archivist that I needed some catalog numbers, but for all I know she may be on vacation.

So--I guess I'll try to get to bed at a decent hour tonight.

Am I an old fogey, or is anybody else up to HERE with Michael Jackson? At one time (IMHO) he was a good singer. Then he started changing his appearance, and there were some nasty allegations about his activities with young fans.

The TV Guide channel (cable) has been virtually non-stop Michael Jackson ever since he died.

Farah Fawcett (who did not have major scandal attached to her name) got almost no attention.

Anybody want to make any bets about how long MJ will stay in the news? Let's see--there's the issue of his(?) children, his estate, etc. etc.

The closest any news came to overshadowing MJ was Sarah Palin's resignation as governor of Alaska.

Comments on that may come eventually.
