Why early?

There's a football game!!

The paper is full of the New Orleans "recognition" of the importance of the game.

One of the T-shirts appearing says "What Would Breesus Do?" Another just has WWBD on it.

(The quarterback is Drew Brees.)

The promised rain didn't hang around too long, so the tailgating is hot and heavy. Under the interstate is a popular place. We have reserved parking on the roof of the Dome garage, and there is plenty of tailgating that goes on there. We've spotted some people managing to engage in that particular ritual activity on the lower levels. (I don't know if they're allowed to grill.)

I shall be watching from the comfort of my couch, probably with a cat on me. And it won't take me hours to get from the game to my home.

As I said, today was mostly a nothing day. This evening will be different.
