It is, of course, of top importance in this area, and today Obama visited again.

I can't help but wonder how the arrival of the Presidential plane--with the extra security needed--affected the regular flight schedules at the airport. Probably negatively.

The plane landed (apparently) way out from the regular terminal--of course.

Later this afternoon he held a press conference, which the local Fox channel carried live. I had to admire the not-so-subtle way they presented it--a split screen with Obama in one half, and a live shot of the leak on the other half. Kudos to the person who thought that one up.

Earlier in the afternoon we had a rather vigorous rain storm, which left the humidity elevated. My big boy cat stayed outside, but on the front railing which is protected by the porch roof. At least he has some smarts. Besides, it was getting near food time, and that is one of his very high priorities.

(Which reminds me--I haven't put out the possum chow or raccoon biscuits yet.)

According to the weather radar (whatever did we do before we could call that up on our computers!) there may be some more rain. But it's summer (almost) and that's expected. It will raise the humidity for a while, but it will also cool things down for sleeping.

(My next visit to WalMart I must get my glasses adjusted--they slip down too easily on a sweaty nose.)

What the rain etc. I've been at home all day. Guess I'm starting to get caught up on the stuff that had to be postponed while my car was in the shop.

I'm tentatively planning to go in to work on Monday and do the things needed to get the collection I've been working on in "put away" condition. I e-mailed the archivist and hope she has another collection for me to do.

And that's about it for another incredibly unremarkable day.
