My drive in was delightfully uneventful--and topped off by the apparent completion of paving, neutral ground work, etc. etc. on Claiborne Avenue.
The street repair continues further down the road, but it is not causing horrific tie-ups like the earlier part. I got a lot done at work, and then had to leave early, since there was some sort of "event" happening in the library in the late afternoon. Leaving at 3 PM meant (almost) no going-home traffic. In the afternoon there was a tap on the door between the library and Cuban Studies, and the secretary there needed some math help. She was looking for a quick way to do a division problem in fraction form--without a calculator. I showed her about cancelling to get it to a workable level. (Divide both numerator and denominator by the same numbers.) Apparently she hadn't been taught this, and was really pleased at how easy it was. When I got home I discovered a large bowl which had been on the screened porch to hold critter food was no longer on the porch but in the driveway. Gee, I wonder how it got there. At least it didn't break. The bowl is currently in my car (my hands were too full to take it in the house at the moment). The way I tend to be barefoot, I think it will no longer be a critter food dish. If it had broken I'd never have gotten it all picked up. Weatherwise, I am trying to convince myself that it has cooled down a bit. Of course at the moment I'm in an air-conditioned room . . . . 'Nuff for now--when you have an IUL that's what happens.
