My Incredibly Unremarkable Life

Another hot one, with no cooling rain in sight.

HOWEVER--I finally got around to assembling a new fan for the den, and what a difference it makes! Just having the air moving around makes a big difference.

There's one little raccoon that seems to have adopted me/my household. It (I have no idea if it's a he or a she and I'm not getting close enough to check) doesn't hesitate to come onto the porch as soon as I sit down. Even if it isn't "regular" food time, it doesn't want to waste an opportunity for a possible snack.

Their facial markings give them a really alert, intelligent look. I talk to the various critters as I quietly keep my distance. And I'm sure that next spring there will be at least one mama appeasing her children's voracious appetites with cat and dog food.

Basically, today has been yet another IUD. And, had I not just made a quick run to Popeye's for supper, it would have been a day without a human conversation.

I hope all the fathers who might be reading this have an enjoyable Fathers' Day tomorrow.
