Can't come too soon. I'm getting really bored with this color scheme and will be changing it with the new month.
What happened today? Well, I got off to a slightly late start this morning, but fortunately realized I needed to gas up before heading into New Orleans. There aren't that many stations open about 6 AM, but my mind was elsewhere and I almost missed the turn (across traffic) into it. But I filled up the tank, then checked the time. I was running a little behind, when it comes to arrival at my destination before the good parking spots are gone. And then I turned on the radio. After hearing about all the delays on the way in, I decided that the world would not end if I turned around and went back home. (Tomorrow I shall get a good early start.) So I got back home, persuaded my body that it was not yet time to wake up fully, and snuck in about an hour more sleep. Now THAT is a good start to a day. The rest of the day was an ordinary IUD. In the afternoon I ended up having a nice chat with the woman who cat and dog sits for my neighbor--as well as a LOT of others (including me). One of my cats wasn't around (she usually is) and I was concerned she might have gotten into some kind of hassle with the dogs next door, who have a tendency to bark a lot--usually when I'm writing or otherwise online. I called the pet sitter (a long-time friend) to discuss this. She is currently tending their pets, and said she'd do a good check when she tended them this evening. By then, of course, the cat had returned home. But we had a really nice long chat. A large part of it revolved around raccoons and their habits. She has a bunch around her place, and I've got a couple of families who bring their children each year. And while we were talking the "missng" cat walked in. I REALLY like living where raccoons and possums feel comfortable and get along with the "tame" animals in residence. One acre lots have some definite advantages. I shall try again tomorrow to get in to work. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
