I just glanced at my front porch and discovered three half-size raccoons. This year's babies are now learning about the big world--and where they can usually find food.

The cats are no threat--after all, they willingly share with the adults.

Baby creatures (including humans) are usually pretty cute, and this year's crop are no exception.

It won't be long before the mamas see that their babies have learned where there is plenty of food, and they (the mamas) go off for a well-deserved rest.

(Noise break) It sounds like a low-flying helicopter in the immediate area. I wonder if it's related to the tropical storm churning around the Gulf of Mexico.

Helicopter just passed overhead--and from the sound I'm guessing it was low.

(Back from checking on helicopter) A fairly major bayou--Bayou Liberty--is at the end of my street (Garden Drive.)
The helicopter was too low to get a good look at, but its noise is now gone. Since I didn't hear a crash I assume it flew away.)

{And, judging by the noise patterns, is flying back and forth.)

Well, all this activity makes me "curiouser and curiouser" and I think I shall give up on writing and see what's actually happening.

And now it's flying back again.

(I pity the parents trying to get their little kids to go to sleep.)

Think I'll try to find some TS (tropical storm) news on the TV.
