Chat logs and what not
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

It started off as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry

I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before

All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

I wonder how many out there have the habit of saving chat logs. I do. Sometimes, I'll just open up a few and read them, seeing how some things have, like time, moved on and waited for no one. And how some other things are still there for me, how these things seem to withstand the erosion of time. How much longer, though? Reading those chat logs made me see how much I've grown, and how much I've missed the me back then. The days where I'd wake up everyday with brand new hope. The days where there's always something at the end of dreamland for me to behold. The purpose that I had in waking up to this dreadful place is now the very thing that I want to stay asleep for. There are always these things that keep pressing the F5 key in your mind, and even though that page had long been due, the F5 brings it back to focus again. I wished the webpage in my head had the close button, rather than the ability to F5.
