Our writing group met last Saturday, first time Heather and I managed to make a meeting in a couple of months, and it was really nice to talk writing and stuff again (though Heather was feeling sick, poor thing). On New Year's Eve we went over to Susan G.'s place and partied our hearts out. It was great seeing David (who was visiting from Switzerland) and hanging out with Susan and Matt. I drank. A lot. But I stopped drinking around 11 (apart from a little champagne at midnight), so I was okay to drive home at 3 a.m. when we finally decided we should get going. What a great party. Haven't had that much fun in ages. Today (my day off) I had coffee with filmmaker Kai Barry, and we talked about movies and books and artistic philosophy and whatnot. We'd corresponded a bit by e-mail, but hadn't met in person before, and it's always nice to find you like someone as much in person as you do online. Good stuff, though I must admit I'm happy to have no plans this weekend, except to hang out with my wife, play video games, do some reading and writing... I started a story yesterday. It doesn't have a title yet, but I guess I'll call it the epic fantasy infidelity story. (Yeah, that's catchy, huh?) I thought it would be short and sweet, but it looks like it wants to be a novelette, so I'm going to roll with that. I've also been revising Poison Sleep a bit, and doing my usual freelance stuff. Lots of writing going on. The new year is off to a good beginning. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
