Last night I saw Josh Rouse in concert. He was fantastic! Actually, wait. He was pretty good. He chewed his gum loudly into the microphone one too many times for me to say he was fantastic. Because it was kind of gross. He played songs from all of his albums, including ones that I was hoping he'd play. Like "Winter in the Hamptons" and "Under Your Charm". The only bad part was how much he looked like KD Lang. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was her. I think it was his poofy hair do and rectangle, plastic framed glasses. Very KD-esque. I was told he doesn't usually look like KD, but as you can see here:

(KD Lang)

He bears a striking resemblance. Spooky. Don't let his appearance fool you. He's a very talented musician/song writer. His voice and harmonies are dreamy. Not to say KD isn't also talented... I've always been a closet fan of ... ok I can't even think of a KD Lang song. I keep thinking of Walking on Broken Glass which was SO Annie Lennox. She doesn't look anything like them:

Anyway...

The show was at the Cedar Cultural Center. A venue I had never been to before. It's great! You sit in folding chairs instead of stand. I believe the space was once a movie theater, but the stage is on the long side of the room, not where the screen was. The sound was great and even though we were in the very back row of seats, we could see him pretty well.

Before the show, KP and I went to Townhall for drinks. Sometimes I miss living by the U. I never get to go to Townhall anymore. I especially love their changing lambic on tap. Last night it was cherry. Not the best I've ever had. My favorite is raspberry. Townhall also has fabulous fries. KP got a pulled pork sandwich that I guess is soaked in brandy or something. It looked tasty!

Add Sushi Tango for a late lunch before that, and I had a pretty fantastic day! Two good meals, one good concert, and great company.
