My mom gave me a copy of the book "Babywise" (authors escape me, it's upstairs) as we are struggling with getting Roman to nap on a schedule. Or nap at all. This weekend he was wonderful, an angel, napped at all the right times, was happy when he woke. Yesterday - a nightmare. I was emotionally exhausted.

So I dove into the book yesterday evening and realized I had fallen into the "stupid people" track. How easy it is to do! I wasn't being the boss. I was trying to feel out Roman's natural schedule... when it is the schedule of ANY child to never nap if they can help it. My opinion. So Doug and I sat down and worked out a schedule that was very close to what we were doing, with forced naptimes embedded.

Today was the start of Mission: You WILL Nap, part of the overall Operation: Figuring Out Our Child we have embarked on. But he made it easy for me today. He awoke at 1am for no reason, also woke earlier than usual this morning at 6:20. So he was tired anyway, and morning nap went well (1-1/2 hours!). He also went down easily for nap #2 at 3:30 this afternoon (partially because he had injured his finger earlier and he's teething, which both took a toll on his mental stability). So we're a half-hour into nap #2...

Cross fingers....

And hope that tomorrow isn't Screaming Central.
