Working on: Play Civ, or read? Hmm....

This evening we were getting ready to have a bath. Well, Roman was going to have the bath. Anyway, he ran into the bathroom with just a diaper on, and I went into our bedroom to change clothes. Roman was talking away to himself, and I glanced over to see what he was doing. And that's when I saw, for a few moments, the boy he's going to be.

Roman was standing in the doorway talking nonsense, with a few words I could understand, but gesturing with his hands and inflecting up and down. He'd say a few things and then laugh, then it sounded like he asked me a question, then he kept talking, all the while gesturing, pointing, and carrying on. I wanted to take him so seriously but I also wanted to laugh out loud and hug him!

Finally I deciphered that he was telling me (I think) about how he is tickled, and where he is tickled, and he mentioned Daddy. Doug will often tickle Roman's armpits and say "are we ticklish tonight?" to get him to laugh. I think that's what he was talking about, because he ended with pointing to his own armpits and saying "Mama tickle? Mama tickle Roman?" (I told you he's brilliant!). I said, "oh, you would like Mama to tickle you HERE?!" While I ran for him and his armpits. Roman squealed with laughter, turned to me and said, "Mama funny! Funny Mama!"

I love that little boy so much.
