Mood: Still a Little Stretched Read/Post Comments (0) |
2003-02-13 6:32 PM Visiting Two Other Food Places Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.
Especially since I skipped a day posting. I would have written something for yesterday morning, before leaving for the province, but all I would have said was "It rained last night. I wonder if it still be cloudy seven hours and eighty kilometers later." Turns out it wasn't. The kids saw Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon in the evening, and Venus, Mars and Alpha Centauri in the morning. I should have asked them to sketch how Jupiter's moons looked like in the evening because it was still visible at 4am, with the moons' positions slightly changed. The teachers were nice also. When the principal heard I was still a bachelor, her mother hen instinct kicked in and they offered to introduce me to their single female faculty, who, of course, were already on the same wavelength also teaching science. Getting back in the early morning, I was asked by a co-teacher to judge this science contest at the school his brother teaches at, just two blocks away. I agreed, even if it only gave me time for about two hours of sleep. It was relatively easy to judge the contest, and it opened up the possibility of the students there going stargazing here also.
