Mood: And I'm Glad They Don't Read/Post Comments (0) |
2008-07-23 6:11 PM A/P: Lazy Teachers Don't Know About Days of No Rest Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. It was a very hectic day today. Just finished the institutional fun run. The open lab was this morning, supposedly until 2pm, and I didn't leave the post. As usual it really didn't start at 8am like we planned, but even then, we weren't sure that anyone we invited would show up at that time at all. And no one did. But another hitch was that we didn't end on time either. I sent instant messages to all the grade school and high school teachers about the open lab today, and two of them said they would bring their classes (four in all) from 1pm to 240pm. I agreed to this because the opening of the institutional sports fest wasn't until 3pm, and the fun run itself not until 4pm. What's ironic is that the grade school classes didn't show up, but we still stayed late because three college classes showed up. Two of them were freshmen mathematical methods classes, and one was statistics. Also, some third year students who were supposed to have a class from 2-5pm instead were our visitors, despite the fact that they were supposed to be training to present the same (and more and better) presentations next term during the engineering week. At the same time, it was academic advising, but no one in my list showed up. The school director had another idea though, and called students one by one from the lab to the faculty room to be advised. Slacker co-teacher in fact, when told about having to stay in the computer lab, asked if he could be in the faculty room instead, since he couldn't think of anything else to do while staying there. Session 2275 has absolutely no dedication to students beyond self comfort. Class dismissed. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
