Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. On course card day I will actually be out of the campus, and for a day before and a day after. I just found out about this yesterday, when I had a breakfast with the brother president, the head of the mission office, the guidance counselor and our board-exam-passer teacher and graduate, who I was surprised, was there. Now the college secretary and the secretary of the office of the president are pointing fingers at each other which one is to blame for the oversight, and the letter was finally given to me dated March 11. They both assumed the other would inform me. Anyway, at least I know now, and will accordingly change my schedule to earlier. @@ I was talking to some students earlier about the board exam results, and hanging around with them was E-frame. Of course I ignored him, but all my comments were veiled towards him. After all, if these hardworking students couldn't hack it, how much more him, if he had stayed in the program? Maybe he's now relieved he's out of this program and into a less demanding one. What is not surprising about the results is that one guy who spent a lot of time with his girlfriend who is also leaving for abroad soon didn’t pass. He gave up the dormitory and supposedly studied by himself at home, although we all knew every once in a while from the review center he would visit his girlfriend in their dorm near the school, before he himself went home. Also not passing is a student who (I think I've mentioned it here before) said if he fails he doesn't intend to retake, because his older brother got a good job despite not having passed the board. Much like "if he can win the lottery, so can I." Well, at least now he can stop wasting his time and get on to what he really wants, which is not making full use of what he has spent the last four years studying for. @@ I forgot to mention: the director of the school of engineering said that there will be a board review subject now, and asked slacker co-teacher to study the material. Of course he foisted this off to someone else, using the excuse that it has been so long since he took his exam. This despite all his stories about the shortcuts he used when he took the exam, just so he won't calculate. Session 2621 is acting by rote. Class dismissed.
