Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. From the meeting last Tuesday, the dean asked the college student leaders for activities during the sports camp, which will be happening on the last Sunday to Tuesday of the month. There will be 650 plus participants (students and their trainers, facilitators) who will be sleeping in campus from schools in the district all over the country, but that is as much detail as I want to give here because I will be listing all that again in the student accessible version. Anyway, important point is that there will be no classes for the college on those days because all the rooms on the third and fourth floor will be used for their barracks. But the organizers did ask for the help of the college students with activities during the three days, because they do not want the grade 4 to 7 students to have idle time. This is especially as they are going to have to hang around at the fourth floor during the lulls between their games. I gave them a lot of ideas, although some were shot down by the brother in charge as being a bit too dangerous and that there are some parents who would cry foul over the smallest scratch that would befall their kid, even during a sporting event. So there will probably be no bike riding (rough trail or Straight Street) and roller blade road. The students in their first letter also suggested an amazing race, but in her reply the dean deemed it dangerous. She was asking for the details about the dedication booth, and asked about whether the photo booth is the same as the photo printing booth initially suggested. The description that the 9 activities are going to have 3 hours duration each also makes us apprehensive that this would not be enough for the 3 days. They should have more operating hours. Only the organizing committee for the engineering week, who plans to teach the students robotics, have a program for the three days in that the first two days are training and the third day is for the contest. It is just too bad that the brother in charge (a Grade Eight teacher and not the brother president) is off campus since yesterday because that means all coordination with him on the matter will be through e-mail, giving a longer lead time for replies. @@ In my browser game, I have changed race to mutant after ascending (or equivalent) with a head laser as an initial weapon-slash-augmentation; not bad so far. I did find out though that between incarnations, I can only bring 300 units of credit with me. Session 2829 likes it being in the office and overhearing someone have a meeting about BA Week I am informed of otherwise. Class dismissed.
