The Other Shoe Should Not Have to Drop

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

It is not the first time for me to see a browser crash and close by itself, but it was only just moments ago when it happened using the fox of fire that the software took initiative to restart itself and reopen the windows I had.

And I know what apparently made the browser crash: the city of restaurants application in the book of face.

@@ Yesterday another dilemma was brought to my attention by one faculty member and one graduate, both living in a nearby subdivision.

Apparently one of their neighbors rented out their home to one of the students (actually the son of the holdover president of the parents association of the college, which makes the matter stickier) and has nightly parties, gambling sessions and drinking, maybe even make out sessions.

There have been complaints about them to the homeowners association, filed by the graduate-now-employee.

But it seems that they have not been brought forth to action, so they thought maybe the school could help.

Okay, technically it is out of the school jurisdiction. This does not mean however that the students are free to do whatever they like.

If ever the situation reaches scandalous proportions even without the need for some evidence of anything illegal going on, the school still has a reputation to consider and having students flaunting such public behavior is not one of them.

Maybe, just like with the student commitment against joining a fraternity and the commitment of the parents to be active in the association of parents, there could be another commitment written that not having any parental supervision in the nearby villages they will still deport themselves as model students.

We really should not wait until something very publicized and very damaging to the image of the school happens.

What struck me as funny about the whole thing is that the teacher who approached me identified the students going there as his students who are always absent in class, which means it is typical behavior.

What I found surprising is that the graduate pointed out several of the female students going to that house as being freshmen, who are very potty mouthed when they go there, releasing all the pent-up verbal frustration they do not get to display in school, instead of swearing off, well, swearing.

Right now the course of action is for the graduate to submit a letter to the officer of student welfare.

There will be copies given to the dean and to the brother president just so that it may be discussed in the next operations council meeting, maybe with some input from the high school principal about similar horror stories they might have heard from the parents of their students residing nearby.

And I do not think that making these students move to somewhere else with more tolerant neighbors is the solution.

Session 2859 just like Chat said about what this country needs, it is about the strict implementation of the rules, which means diligent personnel, which means better compensation. Class dismissed.
