2010-01-04 1:00 AM What I Did For Christmas Vacation Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.
Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on. And since there is not much happening yet in terms of things that the students do not need to know about, I will be posting about my personal life, one of the things I have resolved long ago should not be part of the student accessible version, at least in great length, since occasional posting is demonstrative. After the last day of classes for last month, I spent a few days before Christmas at the spa which was on skeletal staff. Then the day before Christmas, I got word that I was invited to the Midnight Feast at the house of the in-laws of my best friend from college, all the way in Commonwealth Avenue in QC. We met in SM North, where we shopped for cheap local phones for him and his wife, because we were not sure of how to adapt their I-phones to accept the local SIMS. Two colored display phones for less than three thousand two hundred pesos, not bad, and at a kiosk store at that, which had lower overhead. At their home some of the employees of the company of the father-in-law visited to sing carols. I was planning to leave soon after, at 10pm, but one of the brothers-in-law said he knew how long my travel would actually take, so they put me up for the night, in the grandmother’s former room. It had a shared bathroom with the room of my friend, so just like in our trip to the summer capital last August it was all about locking two doors in the middle of the night to use the facilities, then unlocking both after. Also, I noticed a strange handprint from a young person on the door, thick enough to have been made with paint, although I am not sure. The day after Christmas, I spent in Festival Mall with Ryan, who gave me the WII games that I asked Joel for from NY. The twenty seventh was spent at the house blessing of a student, which, despite its spaciousness, was still overcrowded by the somewhat two hundred relatives and guests for most of the day. The evening of that day was at the house of another student who also owned a WII, and where my Rock Band 2 is currently stationed. The last Monday and Tuesday of the term were spent at the spa, this time with a DVD player, watching, as I have mentioned somewhere else, the one with Tom Hanks as the congressman who funded Afghanistan, and the travails of stand up comedians with Adam Sandler by the mind behind the 40-year-old virgin. Then it was to Festival Mall again, this time with former co-teachers since one was visiting over from Japan. I teased him about applying as a dean to our campus, so that our current dean can fill what was once the executive vice president position. The hours in between spent at home were used for playing Lego Indiana Jones on the WII to near completion, somewhat in a deflated mood because it turns out using the given codes is like cheating, and not as much fun. Now I realize I could have been talking about the drug testing parental notification. Session 2899 likes the gaining of momentum done today. Class dismissed.
